Late night psy vibes at the first JSP at Garth’s ;)

This was my first solo DJ set at our new Jungle Space Party location near Joshua Tree, and my first opportunity to play psytrance at a JSP event!

Given that the set started 4am, I knew I had to come up with something more subdued than the raucousness I’d been subjecting dance floors to with my previous psy playlists, so I did some digging and sprankled in a style that now makes up the majority of Bri Bri’s psybrary. The so called “zenonesque” subgenre, associated with Zenon Records, leans toward the dark, mystical, spiritual side of the psychedelic spectrum, infused with expansive, creative, pristine sound design.

After working through this exciting new palette it came to my attention I needed to fill an extra 45 minutes before the next DJ, so midway through I switched gears and dug deep into the nether reaches of some of my downtempo/psydub favorites to finish up the set.
